Knitting a baby hat is not difficult if you use a circular knitting needle. ✨ If the pattern indicates to decrease, I always continue on 4 short knitting needles. But that’s basically unnecessary. 🧶 These are wonderful baby hats, aren’t they? A cutie new design looking extra cute in my shepherds hut 🌨️ whilst it’s snowy and cold outside. I’ve been asked a lot recently for a baby version of the Bunny Bonnet, so I’ve spent the last few evenings experimenting with some Cardiff Cashmere which has resulted in the softest little bonnets to keep precious heads warm. I feel very new to the world of baby knits, and I’d love to know which sizes people would be interested in making in the baby version? Okay I haven’t even released the pattern yet and I’m already plotting the Lucky Duck expansion pack (too many board games in this house??). Here’s a new batch of newborn handknit baby hats for my daughter @mkwoven to take to her labor and delivery floor. She’s a labor and delivery nurse. She’s so excited to give these away to her patients and their new babies. The hats are teeny-tiny and so cute. Addictive to make, I couldn’t stop. I made all of these up on the fly, no specific pattern used but the stripey hats are similar to my Stripey Point Hat pattern. The tree I really just made up and the same for the little eared hats. My book Itty Bitty Hats is a good starting point for baby hat knitting. The yarn is @lionbrandyarn 100% acrylic yarns as that’s what the hospital accepts. The yarn knits up adorably and they all turned out super cute. We will do more together coming up. And if interested I used a US size 8 needle, 16-inch circular and dpns, and cast on 48 stitches on the worsted weight yarn. #baby #laboranddelivery #susanbanderson #laboranddeliverynurse
