No gym? No problem. This is my go-to for building spinal control and serious hip strength from home. Perfect for unlocking your hips, offloading your back, and building real capacity — without a back extension machine. Want the full at home coaching? If you’re trying to strengthen those erectors, the back extension can be a good option - I just recommend keeping a relatively straight spine as you do them to reduce the risk of injuries when loading the movement heavily. #fitness #gym

How To Get Better Results From Your Back Extensions: 1️⃣ Squeeze your glutes with intention. 2️⃣ Don’t over-arch your lower back — Focus on keeping your core and glutes engaged. 3️⃣ Go all the way down and round your lower back. This ensures you’re building strength through the full range of motion. Implement these techniques, and you’ll be on your way to a stronger and healthier low back 💪🏽 #LowBackStrength #StrengthTraining #BackWorkout #MobilityTraining #FunctionalFitness

❗️ BACK EXTENSION: SAME MACHINE — DIFFERENT PURPOSE Small technique change = completely different muscle focus 👇 1️⃣ HIP-DOMINANT VERSION ✅ MAIN FOCUS: Glutes & Hamstrings 🔹 KEY POINTS: • Movement starts from the hips • Pelvis moves freely • Spine stays neutral • Finish by squeezing the glutes, not overextending the back 💡 PRO TIP Think of it as a hip hinge, not a back bend. 2️⃣ SPINE-DOMINANT VERSION ✅ MAIN FOCUS: Spinal Extensors 🔹 KEY POINTS: • Pelvis stays fixed • No hip hinge • Movement comes from spinal flexion/extension • Slow and controlled reps 💡 PRO TIP Focus on moving the spine segment by segment — control > load. ❓ WHY THIS MATTERS Same exercise. Different technique. Completely different training goal. Choose the version based on what you want to develop — not just because it “looks the same.” . . . . . 👉 These and other vector animated exercises for your fitness app, website or other project can be found at the link in bio #exerciseanimations #animatedexercises #workout #fitness #tips

Low Back Pain and Low Back Extensions Low Back Extensions on a 45-degree bench have to be one of the most common exercises I see for people trying to improve their low back. Problem is, a lot of people who have low back pain complain about how this exercise makes things worse. And while there isn’t fundamentally anything wrong with the exercise, the common fault I see from those with back pain stem from this very important concept. Cold Water Back — This is an analogy I use with all my clients to help fix their posture immediately. Imagine cold water running down your back; your natural reaction is to tense up and retract your scapulas — this movement, even if it’s exaggerated, when you go to hip hinge or perform extensions really has the ability to bulletproof your low back. And if you have a bad low back, chances are, this fundamental cue is missing in your training. The second element is to work on full body posterior extension with exercises like this “Back Plank.” Unlike the low back extension where the top side of your body is free to move, the back plank teaches you to contract all the muscles in sync (the glutes, hamstrings, low back) to maintain a nice solid line. And the pressure from the bench or the Swiss ball forces you to push against it utilizing your upper back and ultimately helps you reinforce good “cold water” mechanics. If you’re experiencing low back pain and haven’t addressed these fundamental issues first, doing low back extensions won’t help you improve—it may even make things worse.

✨ Lower back on hyperextensions ✨ 3 common mistakes to avoid so you really feel it in your lower back: 1️⃣ On your tippy toes → Keep your feet planted flat on the platform for more stability & better activation. 2️⃣ Rounded back → Focus on keeping your spine straight to target the lower back safely. 3️⃣ Going too low → Instead of dropping all the way down, come up higher to keep the tension where you want it. Controlled. Intentional. Lower back gains 💕 #inspiregrowthfitness #personaltrainer #gymreels #fitnessgoals #gymtok #personaltraining #lowerback #LowerBackWorkout #FormTips #GymGirls
