Spoiler: it’s not that hard, and I wish more women (especially moms) backpacked! ♥️👊🏻🔥 #outdoors #backpacking #camping #motherhood #hiking

Last year I hiked 60+ trails and over the last 2 years have backpacked with the same three pairs of pants in my pack. If you’ve seen my content, you’ve probably seen them too. I believe in buying quality items that last and pieces you can rotate and use for years. Good outdoor gear should handle the elements and the wear and tear of adventure, not be worn once and tossed the next season. These are the pairs I’ve put to the test and can easily recommend! 1) @mec Rad Pants 2) @uniqlocanada geared pants 3) @peakperformancenam Trailblazer Shell pants Am I missing out on anything?! Check out this campsite walk-thru for Parsons Landing along the TCT. Check out my other TCT Recap videos and save this reel for your trip! I solo backpacked the TCT in January 2026. I camped at Parsons Landing on my 3rd night, which was also my final night on the trail. I was in Site 2 although I wanted to get Site 1 since it was incredibly private. But it was already booked! I liked Site 2 and since no one was at Site 3 it was still really private. There is no water available at this site unless you pay for a locker in advance when you are making your campsite reservation. The cost is around $35 and it includes 2 gallons of water, firewood, and a firestarter. You pick up your locker combination at Two Harbors on your way to Parsons Landing and the conservancy makes sure the locker is stocked before you arrive. Many folks don’t use all their water, so there was a ton of “extra water” on the shelves by the lockers. But I wouldn’t count on it. This site had pit toilets, critter boxes at each site, and some of the best views! It was the only site where I had a campfire, even though you can order firewood to be delivered to the other campsites. It was lovely to camp on the beach, next to a rock wall while under the moon and stars with a campfire to keep me toasty. ✨The Season 4 Finale of my series #OutdoorDefense is tomorrow! ✨Subscribe to my YT Channel for OutdoorDefense episodes! I was so scared to announce this because it would mean that I was really doing it, but there's no turning back now! I have never even solo backpacked before, but somehow, this summer, I will be attempting my first solo thru hike: a hard 5-day push of the 71-mile High Sierra Trail in Sequoia National Park. It will be my biggest adventure yet, and I'll be documenting all the preparation, training, and knowledge I have to gain to trek across the Sierra Nevada Mountains all on my own. I'm taking "do it scared" way too literally, but follow along and let's see how it goes! . . . . #thruhike #backpacking #highsierratrail #hiking #thruhiking

…before we showed up sleep-deprived, overwhelmed, and way too confident at the same time. Comment JAPAN HOSTELS and I’ll send you my full Tokyo hostel + travel guide. Save this if you’re planning Tokyo. It will save you time, money, and a few breakdowns in train stations. Here’s what we learned the hard way. 🌆 Enjoy realizing Tokyo is way bigger than your map suggests. That “10-minute walk” is not 10 minutes. Stations are huge, transfers take time, and distances add up fast. Plan your days by area and group things together. Your energy and your wallet will thank you. 🛏 Enjoy picking the right hostel from the start. In Tokyo, your location matters a lot. A bad pick costs you time every single day. ✅ Hostelz — compares Hostelworld and Booking.com in one place and shows way more options, including capsule hotels that many platforms miss. 🚉 Enjoy using the right transport tools. Download Navitime Japan. It’s built for Tokyo’s train system. And get a Suica card immediately. Tap in, tap out, no thinking, no stress. 🍜 Enjoy finding the food you actually want. Vegan ramen exists, but you won’t just stumble across it. Use Google Translate and search in Japanese. Some of the best meals are hidden in random alleys. 🍶 Enjoy getting a bit lost at night. Golden Gai is chaotic in a good way. Small bars, tight spaces, random conversations. Go early, avoid places with high cover charges, and bring cash. 🛍 Enjoy exploring outside the obvious spots. Shimokitazawa, Koenji, Yanaka. Less crowds, more character. Tokyo feels very different once you leave the main tourist zones. Tokyo is loud, fast, confusing, and incredible. Don’t try to do everything. Slow down, pick your spots, and actually enjoy being there.

Just go ✨💕 Hi, I’m Stella, and im here to help. I’m a digital nomad, solo traveler and creative, traveling full time.. I’ve backpacked through Asia, lived in a van in Europe, hiked in Peru, café-hopped across Japan, and spent slow days by the beach in Sri Lanka. 🌴 Some days I work from a tiny Airbnb, other days I’m on a night bus heading somewhere new. I work as a designer, share content about this lifestyle, and recently started a podcast called Out of Office Club. 😊🎙️ It’s where I talk about the real side of travel and remote work. Not just the sunsets and wifi cafés, but the doubts, the burnout, and the little moments that make it all worth it. Im here for anyone who loves travel, messy stories, honest advice, and building a life that doesn’t follow the usual. ☀️💁🏼♀️ If that’s you, I’d love to have you here. 💕✨ #travel #digitalnomad

I literally had no idea hut-to-hut hikes even existed until a couple years ago and they are absolutely incredible! I love that they make hiking and backpacking more accessible and welcoming. I’d never backpacked before and was interested but intimidated by needing to be totally self-sufficient. This was an amazing intro and I absolutely loved the experience! I did a partial Tour de Mont Blanc through France, Italy, and Switzerland, and it was so dreamy. On this trek, we carried our personal items but beds and meals were provided for us (we carried the sack lunch they gave us each day but had breakfast and hot dinner at our huts). I loved it so much! Comment HIKE for all the logistics, including training, packing, etc. I’d love to hear if you’ve ever done something like this! 🫶🏽 Hi, I’m Preethi, 🇺🇸 mom of 6 living in London. 10 things nobody told me before I backpacked Europe. I learned these the hard way so you don’t have to. The Ryanair one alone would’ve saved me €50. Save this.
