The autumn leaf colour is looking wonderful on this self-seeded beech topiary… #beechtree #fagus #beech #topiary #handclipped #beech #topiarist #fagussylvatica #autumnleaves

Beech Leaf Disease is a rapidly-spreading pathogen of Beech trees (genus Fagus), and unfortunately, it has made its way to my area in southeast Pennsylvania. It was discovered in 2012 in Ohio, and has spread throughout much of the northeast since then. It is believed that the disease is caused by a nematode, Litylenchus crenatae mccannii, which is believed to have originated from Japan, but more research is needed to confirm this. Unfortunately, the disease infects and kills a high percentage of beech trees, from saplings to mature specimens. It is another pest that will drastically change forests of the eastern US. #beech #beechleafdisease #beechtree #trees #disease #treedisease #trees #plants #arborist #arboriculture #forests #wildlife #nematodes #plants #gardening #garden #tree

I wanted to start the year with some things that feel peaceful, these trees feel soothing even in the strongest winds... We have had a lot of storms and rain over the last month and a number of big trees in this woodland have fallen, but still it feels calm and peaceful. I hope you find them as mesmerising as I do I could stay for hours watching them dancing in the wind. I discovered that these channels between trees are called Crown or Canopy shyness it’s observed in some tree species, in which the crowns do not touch each other, forming these channel-like gaps. These are beech trees and I have observed this mostly in trees of the same species. Amazing Nature there is so much to learn and honour in nature, my monoprinting project brings me closer and helps me to observe and celebrate it, bringing deeper knowledge and understadning through observation. . . . . . . . . #wondersofnature #amazingnature #treesofinstagram #cornishwoodland #wintertrees #treesinthebreeze #nakedtrees #dancingtrees #winterwoodland #wintergratitude #everydaymagic #nobetterdesignerthannature #impressionsofnature #trees #wintertrees #crownshyness #canopyshyness #beechtrees #naturejournal #naturelover #treelover #calmingtrees #soothingnature #NatureCure

Have you heard about Beech Leaf Disease yet? BLD is a new pathogen that has been killing American beech trees across the northeast. Caused by a nematode, BLD was first discovered just a few years ago but today has been noted from the Midwest to the Northeastern United States and into Canada. It’s a nuanced situation, because beech — suffering from another non native pathogen called Beech Bark Disease (BBD) — has actually been a real problem as we try to help our forests become diverse and resilient. By killing beech, BLD may make it easier for us to encourage healthy forests, but it will also kill beech trees that are resistant to BBD, which many of us have been trying to encourage as we try to restore healthy beech — and all of its amazing habitats and ecological values — in our forests. #forest #woods #beech #nature #forestry #forester #tree #trees #treesofinstagram

In the fog, beech trees stand like silent sentinels, their pale trunks glowing softly as mist weaves through their branches, creating a quiet, magical world. #ig_shotz_trees #your_trees #tree_magic #divine_forest #trees_woodland_forests #treehugger #forestbathing #treephotography #forestvibes #treemagic #beechtree #forest_masters #bestforestmood #treeshunter #ancientforest #ancienttrees

We are so sad to have lost 3 of these wonderful beech tree’s, in the recent storms. Beech has played a huge part in Celtic mythology and is know as the tree of femininity. It has also been used for centuries for water divining, which might be why this one took up residence by the burnside. We are going to create wildlife habitats for small birds and mammals with the smaller branches, the bigger ones will be used to heat our home next winter. #beech #beechtree #storms #wood #callofthewildscotland

Weeping birch trees (Betula pendula 'Youngii' or other cultivars of Betula species) are graceful, ornamental deciduous trees known for their distinctive cascading branches and delicate, serrated leaves that turn golden yellow in autumn. Originating from Europe and parts of Asia, particularly in northern regions, the weeping birch is a cultivated form of the silver birch (Betula pendula), a species deeply embedded in folklore and revered in many cultures for its resilience and elegance. These trees typically grow to a moderate height of 20–30 feet, with their weeping form making them ideal for garden landscapes, parks, and waterside plantings. Their bark, often silvery-white and peeling in layers, adds to their ornamental appeal year-round. Preferring cool climates and well-drained, acidic soils, weeping birch trees grow relatively quickly in their early years but can be sensitive to heat, drought, and pests like the bronze birch borer. Historically, birch wood was used for tools, furniture, and even writing surfaces, while in Celtic mythology, the birch symbolized renewal and purification. Today, weeping birches are cherished for their romantic, airy form and are often used as focal points in both traditional and modern landscape design. #architecturediscuss #nuelarchitects 🎥: [Kindly DM for credit] #architecture #ecofriendly #trees #sustainability #archlovers #architect #landscapephotography #landscapelovers #landscapedesign #landscapearchitecture #nuelarchitect #architecturephotography #people #architecturelovers #architectural #archdigest #architecturedesing #design #Interiordesign #homedesing #graphicdesing #landscape
