The chest-supported row is one of my favorite underappreciated back exercises. By bracing against a bench, you eliminate lower-back stress and more or less eliminate the momentum that can creep into traditional bent-over rows. A few tips for getting this exercise right: 1. Stretch and squeeze your shoulder blades. Let your shoulder blades stretch apart as you lower the weights, then squeeze them together as you lift (imagine gripping a pencil between them). 2. Think elbows, not hands. Imagine you’re slamming your elbows into the ceiling as you lift the weights. This keeps the emphasis on your back muscles rather than your biceps. 3. Find the right incline. Angle the bench 30-to-45 degrees. A steeper angle limits mid-back engagement; a flatter one will cause the dumbbells to hit the floor mid-rep. 4. Plant your feet. Maximize stability by keeping your feet firmly on the ground—no lifting or toe tapping. 5. Pinch the bench pad between your thighs. Actively squeeze the bench pad with your legs to further improve stability. 6. Tuck your chin. Keep your head neutral to avoid hyperextending your spine. #backworkout #backtraining #backexercises #backday #mikematthews

Time to talk dumbbell bench press! 💪 In general, bench pressing with dumbbells isn’t better or worse than a barbell bench press. However, they do help target more muscle stabilisation, symmetry, and may even be more beneficial for hypertrophy. A lot of people find benching with dumbbells to be a more joint friendly and comfortable exercise as well. The key to tapping into these benefits without injury risk is checking your form. Here are some tips! ⭐️ Keep weights stacked over wrists. We want strong, sturdy wrist positioning. ⭐️ (Surprisingly common) Don’t lift your head up. Keep it firmly in contact with the bench to avoid straining your neck. ⭐️ Aim for about 45° 📐 between arms and torso at the bottom of your press. ⭐️ Think of pressing weight up and slightly back so that the centre of gravity ends over your shoulders not your low chest or head. Happy benching everyone! 🙌 #benchpress #gymtips #exercisetips #dumbbellbenchpress #gymmotivation

If your bench hasn’t moved in months, it’s not genetics it’s your habits. Here’s why your numbers suck and how to fix them 👇 1. No leg drive. You’re pushing the bar, not the floor. 2. Loose upper back. No tension = no power. 3. Flaring elbows. That’s shoulder pain waiting to happen. 4. Wrong bar path. The bar should touch lower chest, not your throat. 5. No arch. Flat back = flat strength. 6. Weak triceps. Your lockout is trash. 7. Skipping accessories. No rear delts or lats = no stability. 8. Bad grip width. Too wide or too narrow kills leverage. 9. No setup routine. Every rep should start the same way. 10. Bouncing the bar. Control it, pause, then explode up. 11. Bad breathing. Big breath in, brace, then press. 12. Ego lifting. You’re chasing numbers, not progress. 13. Inconsistent training. You bench once a week and expect miracles. 14. Poor recovery. Weak sleep, weak lifts. 15. No patience. Strength takes time stop changing programs every two weeks. 💬 Drop a comment or follow @Onorato.Lifts for any bench press questions or form breakdowns #benchpress #chestday #gymtips #powerbuilding #strengthtraining #OnoratoLifts #formcheck #gymlife #pushday #bodybuilding #fitnessjourney #musclebuilding #trainhard #chestworkout #upperbodyday #strengthcoach #fitnessmotivation

A quick and easy way to increase the range on dumbbell bench

A quick and easy way to increase the range on dumbbell bench press 🦾 1. Secure a foam roller to your bench 2. Position yourself so your head can lay on the roller and try to use one long enough to reach your waist 3. Start with a lighter weight than you would typically use 4. Internally rotate the dumbbells at the bottom and move lower than your chest 5. Feel the stretch through your pecs 😍 An increase in range in conjunction with an increase in strength is the best we can do to lower risk of injury/pain across our joints Give these a go and thank me later Thanks to @courtneystjernqvist for some great videography work #dumbbellworkout #dumbbellbenchpress #benchpress
