Musician just pleaded guilty in America's first ever criminal streaming fraud case.** Here's exactly how he stole $10 million from real artists using Al: Michael Smith, 54, from North Carolina figured out a loophole in how streaming royalties work. Platforms pay artists from a "*shared pool** based on total plays. More plays = bigger share of the pool. So he reverse-engineered the entire system. **Step 1:** Bought hundreds of thousands of Al-generated songs from an accomplice. Named them things like "Zyzomys" by artist "Camel Edible." Nobody was meant to find them. **Step 2:** Uploaded them to Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and YouTube Music. **Step 3:** Built an army of 1,000+ bot accounts. Made them stream his fake songs on loop. Used VPNs to dodge fraud detection. **Step 4:** Collected royalties. Every single day. For 7 years straight.
