Gunbarrel Library, located at 6500 Lookout Road, Boulder, Colorado, is a neighborhood branch of the Boulder Public Library serving the Gunbarrel community. The library operates in a renovated building that previously housed a bank. 🤗👍 Hey everyone City of Boulder Colorado finally listened to all the people who were complaining they cant use the nice central park and Boulder creek area by the library. All summer and year long people would just see homeless everywhere hanging out all day and getting high. They caused ton of issues daily and scaring all the people away. The only time most people in Boulder used this park was when city was having a event. They got high and didnt care if they were destroying it. The police needs to keep this up. And people in Boulder need to stop giving money and handouts. They need to send a message seek hand up or get out of the city. This is what most people want to see happening in this area. Denver Central Library has reopened after a few years of renovations, and it’s such a beauty. 😍📖✨ I’ve been going to this branch since I was a kid, and I have so many fond memories of exploring the library with friends. I was excited to see all of the changes that were made, and I was very impressed by the updates. Some of the biggest renovations include renovating the elevators, bathrooms, removing escalators, and adding a grand staircase system, and more open space throughout. Other new spaces include the children’s and teen’s libraries, a bookstore and coffee shop, and an event space on the first floor. Be sure to head upstairs to the 5th floor (only accessible by elevator) to visit the Gates Western Reading Room and see the signature piece of Denver Central Library’s interior, a Colorado-inspired wooden structure known as the “Derrick.” The three-story, eight-sided wooden structure was designed by noted architect Michael Graves, who also designed Denver Central Library in 1995. Using post and beam construction, this impressive structure was assembled with only wooden pegs. It’s such a beautiful piece - I highly recommend going upstairs to check it out.
