My body has changed with motherhood and weight gain, but so have I. I’m more confident, I’ve healed my relationship with movement and food, and I know what it’s like to be loved unconditionally. I’ve been struggling with my confidence and body image a lot more than I expected since having my second little girl. I haven’t looked in the mirror and cried in a long time, but the past few months it’s been a regular occurrence. And honestly I’m finding it so hard to understand as body acceptance is something I’ve worked so SO hard on over the years and felt like I’d finally conquered. I don’t know if it’s all the noise around thinness this time, if it’s because I haven’t seen that many specifically postpartum bodies who haven’t “bounced back” online, or if because really, very vulnerably and truthfully, I just didn’t expect my body to change that much considering I was barely able to eat during this pregnancy. But whatever it is, I KNOW that my body is not the issue. My body isn’t bad. In fact it amazes me more than it ever has. It’s not my body that needs changing, it’s my mindset and confidence. And slowly, she’s coming back babyyyy 💃🙏🏼🤍
