Sharing my favorite adjustable weights today— the @bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells! If you’re looking to save space in your home gym but also have lots of options, these are what you need! The weights adjust from 5 lbs to 52.5 lbs, in 2.5 lbs increments up to the first 25 lbs. Just turn the dial and go! And if you share your workout space with family or roommates, everyone has options to customize their weights for them. Not saying Kurt lifts heavier than me but…. Quick review of the #bowflex adjustable weights! I get a ton of dms asking me about these whenever I show them in my videos. I think I got the LAST pair from Walmart when the pandemic begin last March. They were great for our spot in the city. We even brought them to the cape during our stay in the summer. They work for heavier weight exercises like squats, step ups, deadlifts and chest press (for me, Nick says they are too light), but for bicep curls or anything that requires the wrist to turn like a deadlift to a shoulder press, I hate them lol. They are too bulky for the lighter weight moves and slow to rotate. The pros outweigh the cons IMO but I recommend having a set or two of lighter weights. In addition to these, I own 3s and 8s. I’d like to get a set of 15 or 20s as well for moves like Arnold press/renegade row but I also like using bands for these kinds of moves too! These seem to still be on back order so if you do want them, put your name on the waitlist. You will get an email directly from @bowflex when they come in stock if you are next on the waitlist. Go right to the website and order them as soon as you can. Some people don’t like these weights. I like them enough and do recommend them but I also have not tried other adjustable weights! This winter in Boston has been… a lot. Between single-digit temps & an absurd amount of snow, marathon training has been something else all together. I’ve done more miles indoors this training cycle than ever before. And while it’s not my preference, I’m very grateful to have a treadmill that makes it feel manageable, even enjoyable (never thought I’d say that!). So, big shoutout to @bowflex for building high-quality, user-friendly machines, because the T9 Treadmill is one of the biggest reasons I’m surviving this season. A couple months ago, I found out that I was getting the chance to partner with @bowflex. No lie, I shed tears of joy!! I haven’t really shared my fitness journey via social media. It has always been very personal to me. This, however, made me feel like I had a chance to share my story with everyone. Growing up, I felt like I was around so many people who cared about image. I watched everything I ate. I sometimes didn’t even eat lunch because of how the other girls in school talked about body image. We grew up in a time where the main beauty standard was to be slim. I fell into that trap & was very hard on myself for quite some time. I played every sport I could. I worked out constantly & over did it with multiple injuries. Today, fitness is more about my mental strength. When something chaotic happens throughout my day, I need an easier way to tap out. Taking more time out my busy schedule to go to a class or gym just wasn’t cutting it anymore. My @bowflex Max Total 16 helped fill that space in a better way from home.
