PROPER WAY to perform a BOX JUMP‼️ The box jump is a great exercise to work fast twitch muscle fibers and increase explosiveness, but many people are doing them incorrectly. THE WRONG WAY👎 ❌ Arms hanging down ❌ Squatting straight down ❌ Loud landing on box 🗣 This way does not maximize power and only creates little momentum to go up. THE RIGHT WAY👍 ✅ Full swing in arms on way down & up ✅ Hinging at the hips ✅ Gracefully landing on box 🗣 This way maximizes power in your glutes and hamstrings and will have all the momentum going up. Box Jumps are effective to build lower body strength, boost speed & power and improve coordination & balance - Start with a box or stack plates at a manageable height. - Feet shoulder-width apart, hinge your hips, and swing your arms back. - Explode up, land softly with bent knees, and step down to reset. Progress by adding height gradually. Focus on quality over ego—control is key. High Jump vs. Low Jump: Which Box Jump Technique Do You Use? 🤔 Box jumps are a staple movement in CrossFit, but the way you perform them can drastically impact your efficiency and energy use. 🦗 High Jump: • Explosive and powerful start, generating enough force to clear the box with ease. • Faster pace due to less time spent at the top of the box. • Requires less overall strength per rep as the movement is efficient. • Open Knee and Hip Angle on landing, with minimal bending in the knees and hips. • Ideal for advanced athletes who can harness their power and control their landings. 🐇 Low Jump: • Slower and more controlled start, focusing on safety and stability. • Slower Pace due to deeper landings and more recovery time at the top. • Higher muscle engagement to absorb impact and push up from a lower squat. • Closed Knee and Hip Angle position with deeper bends in the knees and hips. • Common among beginner or intermediate athletes working on their power and confidence. 💡 Key Takeaway: The High Jump is a more advanced technique, maximizing speed and efficiency, while the Low Jump is a beginner-friendly approach that prioritizes safety and strength development. Both have their place depending on your fitness level and workout goals. Which one do you use in your box jumps? Let me know below! 👇 . . . #CrossFit #BoxJumps #Efficiency

Jumping can feel so foreign! Most people who can’t do a box jump isn’t because they don’t have enough strength or power it’s because they don’t have right foundation. You can’t walk up to a box and jump on it without have the knowledge in how to use your force to push off the ground, the right landing technique, and most importantly training the elasticity in your muscles. When it come to jumping our muscles are light springs - they compress and release to create power Here are 5 exercises that can help you get your first box jump: 1. Snap Downs (helps to use your arms to create power) 2. Pogos (develops springs power) 3. Tuck Jumps (teaches you how to drive your knees) 4. Depth Drops (focus on controlled landing) 5. 6 inch box jump (start small and then once you build your confidence keep adding 6 inches) Your mind can also be your biggest obstacle when it comes to box jumps. Visual yourself getting to the top of that box and always believe in yourself! #strengthtraining #performance #onlinetrainingcoach #performancecoach #jump
