Cameron’s salmon farm in Stulaigh is doing something unusual for Scotland – something that’s seen some recent success in places like Chile and Canada. He and his team have trialed a bubble curtain around the site’s 14 pens – complete with a double-bubbled wall! Their goal? To reduce the exposure of the fish to harmful micro jellyfish. Because of the farm’s unique geography, tides can channel jellyfish, like Muggiaea, directly toward the pens. For me, my journey with PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder) started a year ago after I weaned my youngest. I had never heard of PMDD, but as I began to experience moments of adult tantrums, feeling like I was going insane, and having my mind flooded with the darkest thoughts…I knew something wasn’t right. Ultimately, PMDD is like PMS on crack and instead of a few days of moodiness, I was now experiencing 1-2 weeks of having my world flipped upside down. 💔 But I thought it was me. I didn’t have enough self-control and that’s why the rage bubbled out. I wasn’t doing enough prayer or self-care and that’s why I felt so depressed. I wasn’t organized enough and had to improve so I wouldn’t feel chronically overwhelmed. It was all my fault. And then my period would come and suddenly, I would be myself again. And I’d try to move on (even though the shame for my behaviour wouldn’t actually allow that). After a few months of this cycle, I saw my friend Emily, @madeformotherhood_ share more and more about her PMDD experience and I began to make connections. I went to my doctor shortly after and got an official diagnosis and finally realized, I’m not crazy. It’s not just a little “pms”. This is a debilitating struggle that so many women face every single month. And as I began sharing bits of my journey on my stories, I started hearing from women who realized this is what they were struggling with too.
