She uses Granny Smith apples in this recipe, and the addition of browned butter and vanilla bean seeds gives the filling a rich, nutty vanilla flavor that’s a little different and altogether delicious. 🥧CINNAMON APPLE BARS🍏 2 large Granny Smith apples (peeled and cubed) 2 tbsp maple syrup 1 tsp cinnamon 2 1/3 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 cup unsalted butter (melted) 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 1/2 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp cinnamon 2 eggs 1 tsp vanilla Preheat oven to 350F. In a large bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. Create a well in the center then add the melted butter and brown sugar, eggs and vanilla then set aside. Meanwhile in a saucepan over medium heat combine the apples, maple syrup and brown sugar until apples are softened. Fold the cooked apples into the batter and add it to a 9x13 pan lined with parchment paper.
