Our most recent TPD session focused on emotional intelligence and its vital role in our work as teachers. We explored self-awareness, empathy, and emotional regulation—and how these skills shape our relationships with students, colleagues, and the wider school community. As educators, we know that learning doesn’t happen in isolation. When we model emotional intelligence, we create safe, supportive classrooms where students feel seen, heard, and ready to learn. Thank you to all staff for the meaningful conversations and reflections. A powerful reminder that teaching is as much about connection as it is about content. #sailorsprideschool #excellenceineducation #emotionalintelligence #teacherprofessionaldevelopment

To be able to suggest a conclusion in a conflict is bigger than confidence. Confidence can argue. Confidence can defend. Confidence can win. But resolution needs someone who can hold both sides and still guide the conversation forward. That is emotional authority. And it changes every relationship you’re in. #TeacherCommunication #emotionalintelligencetraining #conflictresolution #teachergrowth #leadershipcommunication

A few weeks ago, @rosemaryimpactconsulting had the privilege of training the dedicated teachers of @cuddleschildmindersandschools and @thecuddleshall on Emotional Intelligence and Effective Communication. This training strengthened participants capacity to: - Understand and respond to students’ emotions with empathy - Communicate clearly and calmly in challenging moments - Foster safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments - Model healthy emotional expression for young learners - Manage classroom conflicts with emotional awareness When teachers are emotionally equipped, classrooms will become safer, learning will improve, and children will thrive in all spheres of life. We are honoured to support educators who shape not only minds, but hearts, and we are grateful to our facilitators @momentswithladyr and @festusntong. In our recent workshop with teachers, we didn’t start with classroom management. We started with a blank page. We asked them to draw their life as a river — from childhood to today. To mark: • The mentors who shaped them • The struggles that built them • The moments they never paused to celebrate And something shifted. Because teaching isn’t just a profession. It’s lived experience in action. When teachers reconnect with their story, they show up with deeper empathy. Emotional intelligence in schools doesn’t begin with techniques. It begins with self-awareness. And self-aware teachers create emotionally safe classrooms.

Emotionally regulated teachers don’t just teach lessons, they create safe spaces. 👩🏻🏫 When a teacher is at peace and happy within, the classroom becomes a place where children feel safe to learn, express, and grow. Emotional intelligence isn’t a soft skill in education — it’s the foundation. A calm nervous system teaches better than any textbook ever can. 🍃💜 {Teachers, Teachers Stories, Teachers Well-being, #story #ActItInstitute #teacher #teacherswellbeing #classroom Nurturing, Nurturing Young Minds, Emotional Wellbeing, Emotional Intelligence, Discussion Method, Dialogue Method, Healthy Learning, Respect For Teachers}

A classroom’s emotional climate is not built in lesson plans. It is built in micro-moments. When a child struggles… do they feel rushed or received? Many students stop participating not because they don’t know, but because it doesn’t feel safe to be unfinished. Emotional safety begins when thinking is allowed to exist before correctness. Pause. Stay with their thinking. Watch the climate shift. #ClassroomClimate #TeacherWellbeing #EmotionalIntelligence #SafeLearning #TeachersOfInstagram

The Train the Teacher program at S. J. Education Centre was a truly enriching and inspiring experience for our educators. Led by Mr. Amit Shukla, our soft skills trainer, the session beautifully blended practical insights with powerful soft-skill strategies that give teachers a real edge in today’s classrooms. The program emphasized not just teaching, but understanding—helping educators handle children with sensitivity, empathy, and adequate emotional support across diverse situations. Teachers walked away better equipped to connect, communicate, and nurture young minds with confidence and compassion. It was a meaningful step toward creating emotionally aware classrooms and empowered educators. #TrainTheTeacher #TeacherEmpowerment #SoftSkillsInEducation #EmotionallyStrongClassrooms #LifelongLearning

A calm teacher doesn’t just teach lessons, they shape the learning environment. 🌱 In classrooms filled with exams, expectations, and deadlines, one calm voice can change everything. When teachers bring patience, empathy, and positive classroom management, students feel safer to ask questions, make mistakes, and truly learn. Great educators know that student confidence grows in supportive classrooms, not stressful ones. Through thoughtful feedback, interactive learning, and emotional support, they turn pressure into progress. Because sometimes, the most powerful teaching strategy is simply being calm. 💬 Do you think a teacher’s attitude affects how students learn? Tell us in the comments. When stress rises, behaviour often escalates, masking deeper issues. 🤔 At Fleur OT, we highlight the importance of understanding the nervous system at play. Before reacting, consider: Are the kids feeling overwhelmed or threatened? By tuning into these cues, we can foster a supportive atmosphere in the classroom. What strategies do you find helpful? There’s a child in my class who just won’t follow rules. What should I do?🤔 Let’s be honest. Many students know the boundaries and still push back. Often, it isn’t confusion. For some children, resistance simply feels safer than compliance. 🛡️ With strong, defiant learners, direct correction can sometimes escalate the moment. The second they sense judgment, the pushback often grows stronger. One approach that helps is shifting from instruction to story. 📖 Instead of immediately correcting, try sharing a brief moment from your own journey. A time you struggled. Made a poor choice. Learned something the hard way. Not as a lecture. As a bridge. Many children who appear oppositional are already carrying the belief that something is wrong with them. Hearing that their teacher has stumbled too can help the classroom feel safer. And sometimes, meaningful behaviour change begins right there, in connection first. 🌱 Comment below if you want more strategies like these. 💬 [teacher classroom management, handling defiant students, positive discipline strategies, teacher student connection, IB classroom management, behaviour support for teachers, social emotional learning classroom, managing challenging behaviour, restorative practices classroom, trauma informed teaching, teacher communication strategies, classroom relationship building, student resistance strategies, supportive classroom environment, teacher mindset shift, IB educator tools, classroom psychology strategies, teacher professional development, connection before correction, effective teacher practices, classroom culture building, student emotional safety, educator behaviour tips, Teachers Help Teachers, classroom strategies] #ClassroomManagement #StudentBehaviour #PositiveDiscipline #TeacherStrategies #SELinClassroom
