That’s why we’re seeing more of these lone wolf and martyrdom operations take hold as escalated forms of resistance rather than guerrilla movements.” And she sneered at U.S. workers as complicit: “The working class in the imperial core is still pacified with the tiny shares and crumbs that they get from the imperial super-profits.” From Tehran to talk of martyrdom and guerrilla war at home, Walsh is making it crystal clear: her loyalties don’t lie with America.

Five years ago, Calla Walsh was celebrated in Democratic politics as a rising young activist. Now, according to a new report in The Free Press, she is based in Lebanon, living with Hezbollah, and has become one of the most vocal American defenders of the Islamic Republic and its terrorist ecosystem. This is more than a warning sign about the alliance between the far-left and Islamist extremism. This is exactly the kind of radicalization we’ve been warning people about. The slide from ‘activism’ into open apologism for extremist regimes and groups that violently oppress minorities, spread terror, and threaten Jews around the world is steep.
