"The US government would violently crack down" US activist Calla Walsh, who is in Iran in the wake of foreign-backed riots across the country, says that if these had happened in her home country, the government would have violently cracked down on the rioters.

In July 2025, American communist political activist Calla Walsh, traveled to Iran and declared: “Glory to all the martyrs, glory to the axis of resistance. May we see victory within our lifetimes. Death to America! Death to Israel.” Praising an authoritarian regime, and calling for the destruction of both America and Israel is not “progressive.” It is extremism, and it’s dangerous.

Both Bushra Shaikh and Calla Walsh should be investigated for potential sanctions violations for taking part in an influencer trip to the Iran to whitewash the crimes against humanity which were just committed by the regime. Who paid for this trip? If we look at recent trips, the regime allocated $20 million to bring foreign influencers to Iran for “nation branding.” The Tehran municipality even took credit for paying for hotels and travel expenses for previous similar trips. Now participants are shilling for the regime and visiting IRGC sites with missiles behind them? How can that happen without government involvement? OFSI and OFAC both need to thoroughly investigate these vile terror supporters and take appropriate action. I remind you, last time Calla Walsh was in Iran she chanted “death to America” on stage.
