I recorded this video last week and was going to post it on Sunday, but then Dimitry cut the line. I promise, I don't have another Okey video planned any time soon. Anyway... another concern I have with some of Okey's commentary is that he's extremely strict about rules he often made up. There's plenty of reason to wear baseball caps with tailoring, but the most important one is that we feel like it. He doesn't present any of this as a take or as personal preference, but as "decency," as this sort of absolute law of etiquette. If your head is cold, you *must* wear a fedora, whether you like it or not. If your ears are cold, too bad, you chose to wear a suit, deal with it. There's nothing wrong with a brimmed hat if you get a good one and know how to style it. Fedoras have negative associations, but if you really know what you're doing, folks like @aaronhu722, @urbancomposition, and @jasonyang1227 can really make these hats work. Their hats were all made by @wellemahatco. Cody is a great guy making great products, and he deserves your patronage. But by the same token, it is quite possible to style a baseball cap well, as @jonsjawns, @stylesurlaville, and @kunle_x demonstrate. There's plenty of precedent for this in ivy style, but even if there wasn't... Who cares? It's just cool when done well. It's better energy than a fedora, to me, most of the time. Okey's no stranger to the idea of enjoying your clothing. A lilac tweed suit is not a classic business suit. He knows that, but he danced the minute he put it on. It shows a strange lack of empathy that he can't imagine others enjoying the unusual clothes *they* choose to wear. A sport jacket is sportswear. a button down collar is sportswear. A polo coat is sportswear. But you're going to draw the line at a ball cap? That's a *weird* way to be an elitist, Okey. Also, Cody's suit is from a *real* bespoke tailor.
