In the heart of the Alaskan wilderness, where the wind bites and the snow whispers secrets, lived a man named Yamato. He was a soul carved from the very frost of the North, living a quiet, solitary life in a cabin built of cedar and stone. A Desperate Morning One morning, the air was particularly sharp—the kind of cold that freezes the breath in your lungs. A heavy scratching at his door broke the silence. When Yamato swung it open, he didn't find a neighbor or a friend; he found a queen of the mountains in her final moments. A mountain lion, her fur matted with frozen blood and silver frost, collapsed onto his porch. Protruding from her side was a jagged hunter's arrow, a cruel piece of iron that had pierced deep into her lungs. In her mouth, she gently carried a small, trembling bundle of fur—her cub. With a final, guttural purr that sounded like a prayer, she nudged the cub toward Yamato’s boots. Her golden eyes met his, filled not with predatory hunger, but with a mother’s desperate plea for mercy. The Silent Passing Yamato knelt in the snow, his warm hands reaching out to the lioness. He saw the light fading from her gaze. Before he could fetch his medicine kit, she let out one last, shuddering breath and went still. The mountain lion had used her final ounce of strength to bring her legacy to the only man she knew respected the wild. A New Life Begins The silence that followed was heavy. Yamato buried the mother beneath the ancient pine tree behind his cabin, marking the grave with a circle of river stones. "I promise," he whispered into the biting wind. He brought the orphaned cub inside, warming it by the crackling hearth. He fed the little creature goat's milk and kept it tucked inside his wool coat. In the months that followed, the cabin was no longer silent. It was filled with the soft pounces and playful chirps of a growing predator. Yamato raised the cub with a heart full of devotion, knowing that one day, the child of the mountain would return to the peaks—but for now, they were two lonely souls keeping the Alaskan winter at bay together. More details on these steps I want to keep the videos short, so here's for the geeks The sauna walls are tongue and groove red cedar inside and outside, fanstastic to work with and ideal for a sauna. I insulated most of the sauna with 3" thick foam boards with reflective vapor barrier on one side, made sure to fill any tiny gap with urethane and then taped up the vapor barrier shut tight, so that the entire sauna is sealed, except for the 2 openings for good airflow. I still have to finish up the roof, the benches and aesthetic touches to make it look nice. Final sprint!
