COASTAL WALK WITH THE MOST TURQUOISE BLUE WATERS This is the Taronga Zoo to Balmoral Beach Coastal Walk in Sydney. It is 6.8km one way, it is mostly paved, and can be done in about 3 hours, if you don’t stop, but let’s face it, that’s not going to happen with views like this, sunset views like that, and 6 amazing spots along the way that makes this walk so special. 1. Athol Beach - Located just by the Taronga Zoo ferry wharf where you will alight from, Athol Beach has some of the most turquoise blue waters with views of Sydney’s most famous icons. 2. Bradleys Head - Continue further along for more stunning views of the harbour and Sydney, & a heritage listed lighthouse. This is one of my top sunset spots too. 3. Taylors Bay - This was a surprise for me as I didn’t even know there was a secluded beach there, and those waters!! Need I say more. 4. Chowder Bay. Further along the walk you’ll find Chowder Bay & Clifton Gardens. This park is family friendly, great for picnics, and is a haven for divers. Again those waters looked so inviting. 5. Georges Head - The look out here has the most incredible views of Sydney, Manly, and into Eastern Suburbs. 6. The final stop is Balmoral Beach - One of the most beautiful beaches in Sydney with the most calm & turquoise blue waters. The perfect spot for a well deserved feed. Save this for your next weekend out. #sydneywalks #sydney #thingstodo #sydneyaustralia #ilovesydney #feelnewsydney #hiddengems #sydneynorthshore #tarongazoo #mosman #harbourviews #sydneyharbour #chowderbay #cliftonbeach

A top Sydney family friendly beach 👇 Why we think you’ll love it: ✔️ Grass + tree shade + seating with shade ✔️ Calm, gentle waves for confident (and not-so-confident) swimmers ✔️ Beach is in two parts: ▫️Open beach area (on the cafe side) ▫️ A second section with ramp access into the water that is netted ✔️ Playground with shade sail and part of it is fenced ✔️ Toilets on site ✔️ Café for coffees, snacks and ice creams ☕️🍦 @cafelamer.chowderbay 📍 Clifton Gardens, 1 Chowder Bay Rd, Mosman NSW 🚗 Metered parking and it gets very busy on weekends & public holidays — if you can, a weekday visit is best. Easy, family-friendly and perfect for a slower beach day with kids 🤍

The Middle Head–Gubbuh Gubbuh to Georges Head walking track is one of Sydney’s newest coastal walks, officially opening in early 2025 after a $9.5 million, six-year redevelopment. This 3km Lower North Shore walk connects Middle Head to Georges Head via historic military sites, native bushland, fern trees, harbour viewpoints and hidden beach sections, finishing near Chowder Bay. It’s a medium-grade walking track with plenty of stairs and rocky sections, so it’s not suitable for prams or strollers, but it’s dog-friendly in parts. Access is easy via public transport from Mosman or free parking at Georges Head Lookout, making it a great option for a scenic Sydney coastal walk without leaving the city. If you’re looking for the best walks in Sydney, new Sydney walking tracks, or Lower North Shore coastal walks, this one is worth adding to your list. #sydney #sydneywalks #sydneyhikes #sydneythingstodo #sydneytravel

Last week we welcomed Year 11 students from Hills Grammar @hillsgrammar for the Earth’s Natural Systems excursion. Students explored the hydrological, atmospheric, ecological and geomorphic processes, cycles and systems at Chowder Bay. Some of the fieldwork students undertook included Wilderlab eDNA testing, water testing, transects above and below the water, and biodiversity surveys. We discussed wave action, tides and currents, headland erosion, beach deposition and erosion, food chains and food webs, and the interconnectivity of habitats Chowder Bay. Students also snorkelled to examine the marine environment with Saltwater School. @saltwaterschool_landsedge Thanks to @wilderlabnz for eDNA analysis Thanks to @bennysfilms for the footage! Great working with you.

And just like that… our adventure begins 🤍 Car packed to the max. Truck packed to the max. Three girls, our dog… and we’re off. We kicked things off with our usual ritual — coffee run (@gardenofedencafe_ ), Oat chai latte for me, hot chocolates and banana bread for the girls. Then straight to pick up the keys (finally!) @firstnationalportstephens . Huge thank you to everyone who helped get us here — from organising keys around trades, to last-minute deliveries, to pulling everything together just in time for a long weekend start. Renovation life kicked in early with our first hurdle (of course) — insulation — but we got there in the end. Thank you to @portstephenscleaningservices walking into a clean, safe space today gave me so much peace of mind and made it all feel very real. Tomorrow, we officially begin. First job: insulation and a full yard clean-up — nails, frames, the lot. Long day but ready to start tomorrow. #CoastalLiving #RenovationJourney #ShoalBay #NewLifeChapter #FamilyAdventure
