Basic Ethics when visiting a monastery: 1. Prayer wheels, stupas or any other Buddhist monuments should always rotate or walk clockwise. 2. Always take off your shoes while entering a temple in the monastery. 3. Do not sit on the sitting places of monks or nuns instead sit on the floor and observe or meditate. 4. Do not touch the wall paintings, statues or anything inside the temple of the monastery. 5. We always begin our (mountaineering) journey by offering prayers to the mountain goddess. We perform a traditional puja with pure offerings such as fruits, chyang, raksi, and the fragrant smoke of juniper (sunpati), along with sacred chants. We also raise colorful prayer flags (lungta) and humbly ask for forgiveness for any mistakes we may have made. Through the sacred Miyong Lhamsang ritual, we pray for the safety, well-being, and success of all our team members before starting the climb.
