if you have a ton of drafts, what that tells me is this thing matters to you. you took the time to create something. multiple things, actually. but you don’t take yourself seriously enough to share it with the world. now for some people, it may not be that deep. you’re just here to chill and have fun, and that’s fine. but if that’s not you… if deep down you know this means more to you than you’re letting on… then please, don’t let your drafts be where your dreams go to die. since nothing else has worked, i’ve resorted to singing.

a glimpse into my highly sophisticated process 🥰 Writing tools are great and I do use a few sometimes (Pacemaker to record and check progress & Whispr Flow for dictation/transcription), but most of the times, this is what my writing process looks like: scribbles on napkins, to-do lists in illegible handwriting, voice notes at 2am and post its scattered everywhere. Woke up one day to go write. I was half-way through a first draft. I was making wonderful progress. I open my laptop. My plot outline document. GONE. My emotional character arcs document. GONE. My character names, traits, and back story document. GONE. First draft. GONE. The only thing left behind from whatever wipe that happened was an endings possibilities document. I think I would’ve trashed Stake Me If I’m Wrong if that one thing hadn’t have stayed.
