Most people think Cloudflare is just a place to host static files, but it's actually the first door your request knocks on before reaching any server 🚪 It handles things like: - global routing - DNS resolution - reverse proxying - TLS - caching at edge POPs So when the EDGE stumbles, websites that depend on it feel the hit instantly‼️ What this outage showed clearly: - Some POPs were routing traffic in loops - DNS lookups slowed to the point of timing out - Proxies dropped requests before they even reached origins - Platforms looked offline despite their servers being perfectly fine ✨ This is why techies were free today.. our apps were unreachable 🤣 For anyone building or operating services, the takeaway is simple: Edge can be a single point of failure Split your DNS and CDN providers Observability should not stop at your servers Resilience at the Edge is becoming just as important as resilience in your Infra.
