If I was a beginner learning to code, I would use this 90 day roadmap step by step for beginners 💪 #coding #codingforbeginners #learntocode #computerscience #programming

#ad In March 2019, I decided to start learning how to code while I was working full time as a graduate aerospace engineer. After doing the free parts of the Intro to JavaScript course on Codecademy, I decided to invest in myself and purchase the annual Pro subscription, which gave me access to all the content. Over the next 8 months, I promised myself I would focus hard on learning programming. Fun fact: because I spent the money on the subscription, it made me take it even more seriously so I could get that ROI lol These were the courses I did: 🔸Web Development Career Path, a 300h course covering all the basics of full stack web dev (it’s now called the Full-Stack Software Engineer Career Path) 🔸parts of the data Science Career Path, another approx. 300h course covering all the data science basics, including Python, statistics and the most common ML algorithms I knew I wanted to code and build stuff, but I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to do Backend, Frontend, Full-stack, or even become a Data Scientist. So I tried out several things, and ended up enjoying full-stack development most because it gave me the skills to build complete systems that me and other people could use. E.g. one of the coolest projects I built with Codecademy was a local web server to create spotify playlists with a react frontend and a node.js backend. After learning all the basics, I went on to build my own project and learn how to apply these things at scale. I eventually shifted careers and became a Software Engineer, and I’m very fond of Codecademy because it reminds me of how it all started. When you’re new to programming, you don’t even know what you don’t know or where to start. I like Codecademy courses because they’re well organized, the modules build on top of each other, the explanations are thorough, and the hands-on projects are useful. If you’re looking for a way to start, I can recommend codecademy from personal experience. They have 35% off the Pro sub until 20th Jan with code NEWYEAR22 so go for it if you’re interested!" 🤓☺️ #learnprogramming #learntocode #codecademy #softwareengineer #programming #developerdiaries #codinglife #codingisfun #informatik #fullstack

here’s how i learned how to code 👩🏻💻👐🏼 even though this process can really be applied to learning anything new. at the start of the semester, i told myself i wanted to at least understand basic programming. you don’t need to know coding in biotech but i thought it’d be a useful skill to have to expand with. i’m still a beginner but now i can actually read code (on a basic level), use functions, and write simple programs. with the help of ai, there’s so much potential for coding beyond that. the best day to start was yesterday so start now ✨

I started programming with the @codecademy Fullstack Engineer career path (back in 2019 it was called the Web Development career path) and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. #codecademypartner #ad The career path offers a combination of courses and projects that teach us all the basics to get started in Fullstack development, now including interview prep and job search support which I find great :) I picked Fullstack because nowadays everything runs online and it can be applied to many different industries. @codecademy truly did help me tremendously when I started coding, and I hope it helps all of you who were thinking of getting started with programming but don’t want to commit to more expensive options such as Uni/bootcamps. I paid approx. £190 for a full year of access to all the content and it has definitely paid off :)🍀💻 #computerscience #codecademy #learntocode #webdevelopment #fullstack #programming #coding #developerlife
