Researchers say that chess improves cognitive skills like memory, attention, and problem-solving. Because the game requires players to visualize, anticipate opponents’ moves, and strategize several steps ahead, it also helps them recognize and recall complex patterns. #Chess #Memory #Dementia #Cognitive #CognitiveSkills #ProblemSolving #CheckMate

To develop metacognitive adaptability, train yourself to quietly observe your own thinking while you’re in the middle of using it. Get into the habit of asking whether your current approach is genuinely effective or just familiar. Experiment with different methods, reflect honestly on what doesn’t work, and be willing to shift direction without ego. With practice, that steady self-awareness becomes a natural kind of mental flexibility. . Follow @kizuki._x for more! . #selfimprovement #cognitive #kizuki #psychology #anime

HOW MUCH WATER TO DRINK FOR HEALTH (OUTSIDE OF EXERCISE)• - Countless studies point to the fact that even slight deficits in water intake can impair our cognitive and physical ability. Conversely, there are many examples whereby properly hydrating increases our cognitive and physical ability. - There are a lot of theories about how much water we need to drink to properly hydrate. My read of the literature (and by taking the circadian rhythm in the kidney into account) is that ON AVERAGE we should aim for 8 ounces (or approximately 240 m) of water intake (or other non-caffeinated fluid) every hour for the first 10 hours after waking and then 4-5oz (120mL) thereafter. Caffeine is not a problem but does not count toward that number and is in fact a bit of a diuretic. - Keep in mind the values above pertain to outside of exercise. For exercise, add in Galpin Equation: @drandygalpin Your BW in lbs./30 = # of ounces to drink every 15-20min (not necessarily on the average exact quarter hour, but on average). - Also, keep in mind that on very hot days you will to increase the volume of fluid you drink. - If these volumes seem very high, then you can start with a smaller amount and work your way up. Keep in mind that most people are not hydrating enough. Also keep in mind that you do not need to drink all of the water on the hour. That’s just not practical. You could for instance drink 16 ounces every two hours. Note: The color of urine is a good guide at the extremes, but is impacted by a variety of factors not just fluid intake. - The new episode of the Huberman Lab podcast out now it’s all about water and hydration. Observer’s bias is the tendency to not see what is there, but to see what you expect to be there. Whether it’s a scientific study or a YouTube controversy, we must account for this and take steps to avoid it. The first, and best way is to follow the facts logically, not allowing emotional manipulation. The other is broaden your empathy and try to understand a situation from all sides before concluding a hypothesis. If you've seen ’Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’, you likely recall the iconic line, ’Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?’ However, in reality, the line actually begins with ’Magic mirror on the wall’. If you too remembered it wrong, you are a victim of The Mandela Effect , a phenomenon where a large group of people collectively misremember a fact or event, usually something significant or well-known, in the same way. It's named after Nelson Mandela, as many people believed he died while in prison in the 1980s, when in fact he was released in 1990 and passed away in 2013. The term was coined by Fiona Broome, who noticed this widespread false memory regarding Mandela's death among many people. #HerCircle #HerCircleHasNoLimit #Memory #Cognitive #Biases #Socialinfluence #Humancognition #Reality #Distortion #Perception #Cartoon #Characters #Animation #Memories #Popularculture #Memorydistortion #SnowWhite #SevenDwarfs #MirrorMirror #LooneyTunes #MickeyMouse #Reels #ReelsIndia #ReelsExplore #Explore #FYP [Mandela Effect, False memory, Collective memory, Misremembering]

Brain fog is one of those things that just pops up from time to time. A bad nights sleep or burning the candle at both ends can soon do it. But if it is a regular thing for you, may want to consider these three things: . 🥦 Stabilise blood sugar - more protein and slow burning high fibre carbs at each meal. Stop those energy peaks and troughs. 🥦 More long chain omega 3 fatty acids - improve neurotransmitter activity by making neuronal membranes more fluid and improving neurotransmitter receptor function. 🥦 Getting hydrated - even a 1-2% drop in hydration can lead to a 5-10% reduction in cognitive performance (reference below). . These simple changes make a huge difference. . Reference: Adan A. Cognitive performance and dehydration. J Am Coll Nutr. 2012 Apr;31(2):71-8. doi: 10.1080/07315724.2012.10720011. The fastest I ever had to be…Choice-Reaction-Time is the time it takes your brain to make a decision and act accordingly, in this case to interpret multiple stimuli (two lights, one becomes 🔴), get information from memory (what to tap?), initiate a muscle response (start to move the right hand) and complete the action (tap 🔴) and before all this, hit the 🟢 with the 🎾 and catch it back at the end. The difference from this to a Simple-Reaction-Time task, eg. an F1 start at lights out, is that in this case there is just one stimulus, one response, no need to interpret. The times you see in this video are well below what many think is human’s limit of 250ms for a 2 stimuli/2 responses proving that with proper training and commitment we can push boundaries of our most powerful tool…🧠 #TalentDoesNotExist Try and let me know✌️ #Cognitive #CognitiveTraining #Training #ReactionTime #brain #braintraining #ChoiceReactionTime #DecisionMaking #PushingBoundaries
