At least once a week I try to pop in at night because that’s usually when my local store does their final clearance for the day… and that’s when the REALLY good markdowns hit 👀 One of my favourite ways to save money on groceries is to shop the clearance section first and then build our weekly dinners around what we find. It saves so much money, helps reduce waste, and honestly makes you get a bit creative in the kitchen too. We’ve ended up trying heaps of new foods and recipes this way. Every store is different, but final clearance is usually late afternoon or night, so it’s worth figuring out your local store’s routine. As a rough guide, supermarket clearance usually goes something like this: ✨ 10-20% off the day before expiry ✨ 50% off the morning of expiry ✨ 55% - 90%+ off by late afternoon/night final clearance If you’re trying to cut back on groceries, this is one of the best habits to get into.
