I’ve had the privilege of seeing a couple of Common tree snakes over the past week, including this beautiful individual who had taken up residence behind a toilet in Glenorie this afternoon. I’ll never get tired of the incredible variation in this species. Their colours can range from vibrant greens and electric blues to deep blacks and rich browns, often paired with a bright yellow, and occasionally white belly. And that little face…..Have you seen a snake more adorable? Haha! Common tree snakes are active, fast moving, and non-venomous, predominantly feeding on frogs, tadpoles, skinks, and occasionally small mammals. Found along the East Coast of Australia, All the way into WA. Like most Australian snakes these guys are highly variable, most frequently seen showing off bright GREEN colours but can also be found, Yellow, Black, Black/Yellow, and like this one BRIGHT BLUE❗️ These guys are primarily FROG eaters, which although may be a tasty snack, often leaves the animal with little LUMPS underneath their skin, were skin worms find a new host. Although generally NOT considered dangerous to the animal 🐍 Incredibly strong, with incredible eyesight, fast paced and an absolutely spectacular species‼️ Do NOT Attempt.
