Chuk makes 100% compostable and safe tableware from bagasse - a sugarcane residue. This offers an ecofriendly food delivery and cutlery alternative to paper plates, styrofoam boxes and single-use plastic boxes and diverts them away from the landfills. Chuk’s products are microwaveable and freezer-friendly and are used by major food brands across India. The packages are leakproof making it a great option for Indian cuisine. Chuk sources its raw materials from sugar mills near their factory and recycles the water used during the production process. Since I started composting and swapping in compostable products my trash is much less full, and my yard waste bin never gets taken out (because I compost all of it). The elephant in the room is that a lot of compostable and more sustainable good are more expensive, but until the economies of scale catch up that is to be expected. If you can make the swap? Do it.
