So.. I’ve said: 1. I’m single because I spent years accepting breadcrumbs and calling it love. I stayed too long, forgave too much, and kept hoping someone would finally love me the way I loved them. I’m not doing that again. 2. I’m single because I rebuilt myself from the ground up. I built my business, I’m building my personal brand now, healed emotionally, became mentally stronger, and learned how to fully stand on my own. A woman who can save herself doesn’t need a man - she wants a partner. And “want” has much higher standards than “need.” 3. I’m single because I know what “almost loved” feels like. And I’m done romanticizing potential. The next relationship has to feel safe, consistent, emotionally mature, and mutual - or l’d rather stay alone. 4. I’m single because every time I ignored my intuition, it cost me peace. So now my standards are stronger than my loneliness. 5. I’m single because I’d rather pour into myself, my children, my peace, my purpose, my health, and my future than sit next to someone who makes me feel emotionally alone. 6. And honestly? I’m single because most people aren’t ready for a woman who rebuilt herself after emotional exhaustion, heartbreak, stress, and constantly putting everyone else first. I don’t need saving anymore. I need honesty, consistency, emotional intelligence, loyalty, and real partnership. Here’s everything I did 👇 ➡️ I casually asked questions. Not overtly like an interview but rather like a casual mention. This shows him what it means to be an active listener. ➡️ I showed acceptance of the boys health obsession. This modeled curiosity and staying open instead of dismissing or belittling the boy. ➡️ I asked him what sense he makes of it. This promotes first thinking and understanding over judgement of others. ➡️ I mirrored his exact thoughts. This shows him exactly what he said to me only doubling up on his positive observation. ➡️ I said a short but firm statement that could sum up the take away from the conversation, this was the small teaching moment slipped in there that will stay close to his heart… Everyone defines their health differently huh? He quickly agreed that we choose to be expansive in how we see others that may be different from us (today that was a boys diet tomorrow it could be a fellow students skin color or the vastness of a girl in his class) but never rejecting. ➡️ He doesn’t know how social media works at all so he got conscious that we had been saying the boys name and that if this boy were to see this video it may hurt his feelings in some way. I reassured him I won’t include his name at all. This reassured his own consciousness and kindness. This only promotes more kindness! ➡️ We joked around and I held a playful energy with him. This playfulness is what invites a child to share in the first place! ➡️ I ended with a boundary… it’s time for bed, we gotta wrap up. This reminds him I am his safe place to share and also I offer structure with boundaries for his well being… both are integral for our relationship! This to me is Motherhood…. It’s not in the grand moments we do something lofty for them but in these micro moments when we are present with them. #boymom #raisingboys #motherhood #parenting #conversations
