This is Canela! She’s my first ball python that I’ve gotten a few years back. She is a banana cinnamon morph, hence her name🥰. I know that there’s a lot of hate towards ball pythons in the reptile community, but I still personally love them! Their personalities are all so different, and they’re the perfect snake to just chill with you. Canela is super curious and loves exploring and climbing. Plus, her face is the cutest ever!! 🥰💖

I’ve posted before and l’ll post again: the narrative that they have any desire to chase, pursue, ambush, bite, or harm humans is entirely false. In fact, it has actually led to more bites- the majority of bites occur when a person attempts to un-alive a snake (followed by people irresponsibly handling them). This non-venomous corn snake only resorted to biting after I physically picked him up and moved him away from a drift fence trap (used as part of a permitted scientific survey). Their first instinct will always either be to remain camouflaged or to get away from you. Outside of that, you can take extra measures to protect yourself from potential accidents such as stepping on a snake by wearing snake-proof boots or guards, and being careful where you step.
