⏰ the one tool I use most with my kids: the visual timer no, they can’t tell time yet (they’re 5, 4, 2 and 1), but the visual cues still make abstract minutes feel real to kids here are some great ways to use the timer: • limits on screen time • “countdown to start” eg, to end play time or put away toys • “race” to put away toys before time runs out • quiet time or independent play • deep work or cleaning sprints for mom the virtual cue makes transitions less stressful for the kids (and therefore also for moms). other pros include: • making time tangible • fostering independence due to less reliance on adult reminders • improves focus and engagement • supports self regulation as kids pace themselves • reduces power struggles and fights ❗️but one word of advice: don’t give into “one more minute”. it’s a slippery slope, my friends #timer #productivity #momhacks #workingmom
