So often we think creativity has to look like the most complicated version of a pose or a complex transition between two poses, when in fact creativity doesn’t mean that at all. Creativy is our minds unique way of exploring what is possible. Creativity can be simple movements layered in with effective and purposeful cueing and dynamic verbiage. Creativity is boundless. Here’s another warm up flow to try in your next class! As much as I love sun sals, this lil flow has all the same benefits (and then some)👌🏼 Teaching Notes: ✨ this can be a hard flow to follow when teaching one breath per movement. I usually teach 3 breaths per movement the first round + then cue one breath per movement the second time through. ✨ we use every movement of the spine in this sequence, giving you many teachable moments to educate your students on spinal mobility 👀 ✨this flow can be great foreshadow for a number of things! I love the modified side plank to low lunge as a foreshadow for side plank to high lunge. Can you think of any others? This was a simple circular mandala flow I taught this week for one of my classes. This flow was extra fun to create because it strings together some of my current favorite poses and transitions — strength, openness, balance and a little play — all woven into one continuous sequence.
