This skylight got tricky real quick! I thought this would be easy, but I quickly realized I didn’t take into account the sloped walls in the skylight. My crown didn’t have anything to sit flat on, as well as my little triangle blocks. I made a custom piece for each wall as all 4 were different angles from 9 degrees to 17. Coping Crown Molding . Coping is great for producing a tight joint that will not open up like a double side miter can. In addition when this is installed on site, if the angle of the two cabinets is slightly off and no longer a perfect 90 it can still have a tight miter. . You can use a hand coping saw for this operation but I prefer a jig saw with a @collinstoolco coping foot and a 4.5" aggressive cutting blade. I use it upside down and I can see easily the material to be removed. It takes a little practice but it's worth it! .
