A lot of people ask whether the ICT trading strategy is profitable. And honestly, that question comes up with every popular methodology out there. But here’s the truth most traders don’t want to hear: almost any well‑structured strategy can become profitable once you actually commit to learning it properly. ICT is no exception. The problem usually isn’t the strategy itself. It’s the way traders approach it. They jump from one system to another, they cherry‑pick concepts, or they expect instant results without putting in the screen time. ICT, like any detailed methodology, only starts to make sense when you stop treating it like a shortcut and start treating it like a skill. If you take the time to understand the logic behind market structure, liquidity, and timing—if you study it consistently and apply it with discipline—then yes, ICT can absolutely be profitable. Not because it’s magical, but because you’ve finally locked in on one approach and given yourself the chance to master it. So the real question isn’t “Is ICT profitable?” The real question is: are you willing to stick with one methodology long enough to make it work? Save this for later. No need to make trading complicated. The market isn’t “hunting” your stop loss — that’s just a side effect. Sure, you can make money trading like that, but let’s be real… it’s far from the best approach. And let’s talk numbers. How many ICT traders are actually consistently profitable? Not funded once, not 1–2 payouts — I mean real consistency. Probably around 0.01%, and that’s only because they’ve modified dozens of parts of the original strategy. I never really traded ICT concepts myself — That thing was straight-up unprofitable for me. I saw so many ICT strategies. But backtest overtime and it just doesn’t add up. Rebuild everything based on your own experience and develop a completely different approach. Still, something was missing… and I didn’t even know it existed at first: volume analysis.
