Sometimes I’m tempted to think that the work of taking care of kids is extra work. But really that’s not it at all. It’s only when I’m tired or in a bad mood that it feels like that. Otherwise, it’s the thing that brings me the most fulfillment in my life. Being a single Black dad to white kids just means I stay intentional about how I raise them. Most days it’s regular dad life - school runs, homework, laughs, and memories.
