Nukeliaukime septynis metus atgal, į 2018-ųjų Dakarą. Vienas įspūdingesnių finišų. Dabar tai atrodo siurrealu, bet (jei gerai atsimenu) apie 50 kilometrų iki greičio ruožo atvažiavome trimis ratais... Gerai, kad finišas buvo bivake. Išrovėme apatinę svirtį su visa stebule. Tokios specifikacijos Toyotų Dakare jau nebuvo. O ir visų reikiamų detalių neturėjome. Išgelbėjo “šluota” - organizatorių sunkvežimis, trasoje važiuojantis paskutiniu ir renkantis nelaimėlius bei pamestas dalis. Šiemet, išvakarėse, galėjau prisijungti prie savo būrio vyrų mūsų tradiciniam ėjimui nuo Seimo pro LRT, TV bokštą link Antakalnio kapinių, atiduoti pagarbą žuvusiems. Nepaisant visko lenktynininkams pavyko padaryti dar vieną stebuklą ir finišuoti 15-oje vietoje. Liko dar vienas etapas ir vos už 24 valandų viskas baigsis.

Trasa greita, apie 100 km akmenų – matėme vietų, kur galima prisidaryti bėdų. Defenderiai vėl finišavo 1–2–3.
