The foundation has to match the legs which usually have false tan on. I can understand here it looks crazy but it all comes together once dancers are in full costume!) Dance competition makeup tiiiiime 🩰 I’m a former theatre teacher, and my background in makeup started with the stage. I’m here to tell you it’s not all that scary. You don’t need special makeup or anything expensive. You need long wearing products and the right technique. It’s all about applying everything over emphasized and heavy-handed, so that the bright stage lights do not wash out the face. It’s gonna look a lil crazy IRL (Caroline always tells me I have “blush blindness” lol), but perfect from afar. More tips for part 4 👇 ❌round your underliner or start the line at halfway point. I have also found that extending the line way out makes my eyes look more narrow. ✅use a short, straight line from corner to corner. It seems backwards, but I promise this will open up your eyes so much! ❌just use sparkly or matte white above the underliner. When sitting in the audience, I’ve noticed that it looks scary lol! ✅add some matte highlighter to the inner corner. I also like to add a reddish tone to my waterline. This was a tip that my friend gave me, and I have never turned back! I also like to set my underliner with dark eyeshadow. I tend to sweat off any and all eyeliner. ✅extend your shadow to the length of your winged eyeliner. This makes the eyes look much better. At this point, you might want to extend the brow a little bit too. ✅touch up your blush and make sure it looks dark enough ❌use any lip color with blue undertones. This can pick up as much darker under the lights. The exception would be an evil or mature role, or even a darker contemporary piece. You also want to avoid using a color that is too natural. It will get washed out. ✅use orange or pink toned red. It doesn’t look great up close, but it will look more natural and feminine from the audience. #ballet #nutcracker #dance #stagemakeup
