Yesterday I visited one of the biggest data centers in Europe! 🌍 Microsoft’s Dublin data center powers cloud services and AI services for businesses, governments and organisations across Ireland, the UK and much of Northern Europe. Hyperscale data centers like this one can host tens of thousands, and sometimes even hundreds of thousands of servers! What I found insane wasn’t actually the number of servers, it was the huge amount of infrastructure (power, cooling, etc) that helps to keep this data center running. Worth it? Follow my reviews @therealryankennedy Who needs a Google Drive or OneDrive if you can build out your own cloud storage drive from your own hard drives? This drive by @synology.official has 48 TB of usable space on it and I own 100% of all the data. You only pay once upfront and you do not have to pay a subscription fee. If I were to buy the same amount of cloud storage on OneDrive or dropbox it would cost me around at least $72 per month or more, but I’d have to sign up for an enterprise account. This is perfect for storing your memories. It’s also great for work and video editing flows for just storing your originals. It is not great for editing off of the drive. For that, you might want to get an enterprise level, @blackmagicnewsofficial NVME drive.

I’ve literally cancelled my Google Drive and iCloud subscription accounts after buying this. Those companies bleed you for a subscription for cloud storage AND keep your data on their servers. This protects your data and keeps it private on your drives. I can upload anywhere and access my files from anywhere even over cellular and it works on any device locally over WiFi. I can watch movies on my smart TV, tablet, computers (obviously), and iPhone. It’s worth the price and easy to setup. #nas #drive #storage #data
