Take it from a former serial dater. I didn’t want to be single and didn’t know how to be single….. I dated all the wrong ones. Until one day, God woke me up and knocked some sense into me. I took a year off dating (ended up being almost 2) let the Lord heal me and show me my identity is in Him and Him alone. that year was a tremendous blessing & God brought me the man of my dreams. But he wouldn’t have been attracted to the broken me. I needed to get healed and see life differently. My whole heart attracted another whole heart. I met my husband at 35, got married at 37, and had my first baby at 39. So if you’re in your 30s and dating and sometimes feel tired or discouraged or like “wait… is this ever going to happen for me?” …I really get it. I remember lying in bed doing the mental math, wondering if I’d missed some invisible window or if all the good, emotionally solid men were already taken. It’s such a quiet, specific anxiety and I don’t think people talk about it enough. The moment I’m sharing in this video is a loving reminder to snap out of that headspace. Not in a dramatic way, just in a “oh… right, that story I tell myself isn’t actually true” way. There are still good men out there. A lot of them are still trying, still caring, still wanting to show up well…even if dating apps and the internet make it feel bleak sometimes.
