Dead bugs can be a great core exercise but let’s be honest I bet 80% of time we aren’t doing them correctly. It’s so hard to keep your lower core engaged as you reach overhead and extend your leg so your low back will start to arch because our core is unable to stabilize. I like using the weighted taps to help patients feel lower core activation due to being able to keep their ribs and pelvis in a better stacked position. By adding in the weight pressing above the chest, with shoulders coming off the ground will really help bring that rib cage back which will help reduce the arching in the low back. It just feels so much better for me and helps many people keep better core activation to get the most out of the exercise. It even helps to use a towel roll under your back where you feel it is arched more to give your back something to press into during the exercise. If you feel like you struggle with exercises like the Dead bug try the weighted taps and if you need further assistance with gaining core strength please reach out to me!

FIX YOUR DEAD BUGS 👏🏻 The most common mistake I see with most lying core exercises is having an arch in your low back 🙅🏻♀️ In order to get the proper core engagement out of this movement, tuck your pelvis in and keep your back in contact with the floor ✅ To practice, you can perform lying pelvic tilts and hold a pause there! As always, take your movements nice & slow! 🤘🏻 What do you want to see next from me? 👇🏻 #coreexercises #coreexercise #coreworkout #absworkout #abworkout #abworkouts #abworkoutsfromhome #abworkoutsforwomen #coreworkouts #coreworkoutvideo #deadbugs #deadbug #deadbugexercise #workoutvideosforwomen #coreexercisevideo

You've been training your core wrong your whole life. 🧠 The muscle that actually matters: Not your six-pack. Not your obliques. Your transverse abdominis, the deep corset muscle, is what flattens and tightens your stomach for real. One held contraction does more than a thousand crunches ever will. The exercise: Dead Bug 🐛 30 to 40 seconds. No reps. No speed. Just you holding tension hard. Three solid sets of real contraction demolishes a hundred crunches that are quietly destroying your lumbar spine. What actually happens when you do it right: 📅 Day 3, you're sitting straighter without thinking about it 📅 Day 7, your stomach is already visibly flatter 📅 Week 3, your back stops complaining and your core becomes the machine holding everything together This isn't for Instagram. This is for real. 💀 Your posture stops looking like you're apologizing to the world. Your brain rewires. Your deep muscles finally learn their job. Comment which day you stick with it. Bet you don't make it to day two. 👇 #CoreTraining #DeadBug #FlatStomach

The dead bug is one of our favorite exercises to learn proper core engagement, bracing and TA activation Tips: Be patient: move with intent Draw ribcage down towards the pelvic and back to the mat (think neutral spine) Breathe in to expand through all points of your torso Exhale to draw the TA in and stiffen the abdominals Try that with a dead bug opposite arm and leg moving Add a weight over head And lastly increase the challenge with a pull over #bespokewomen #howtoengageyourcore #deadbug #deadbugvariation #physicaltherapy #coreexercise #TAactivation #exercise #strengthtraining #earlypostaprtumexercsies #diaphragmaticbreathing #gym #physio #workoutideas #sweat #move #fitness
