Biggest project this year was my Pool deck. It involved removing and installing and new pool and deck. This video is where I told the world we were wrapping our decking with composite and everyone’s mind exploded. From @beyond_gray It’s not just a pool cover, it’s also a safety cover. “I didn’t add any audio so you could hear the natural sound of opening and closing the cover. It’s fairly quiet! For us, the pros outweighed the cons. So yes, worth the hype! Giving you our honest review about the pros and cons of having an auto cover: PROS: ▫️Because the cover completely seals the pool when closed, it keeps debris (leaves, dirt, etc) out. That means less time cleaning and maintaining your pool and more time to enjoy it! ▫️The cover traps heat in, helping to keep your pool at a comfortable temperature without always having to rely on the energy of a pool heater. ▫️ SAFETY! When the cover is closed, there is no entry to the pool. The cover can withstand the weight of several adults and children if someone accidentally steps/falls onto the cover. Another layer of protection when it comes to pool safety. ▫️Keeps water evaporation at a minimum. ▫️ Opens & closes by entering a code on a keypad. CONS: ▫️The pool can get too warm! We experienced this last summer. We made sure to leave the cover open for longer periods of time to let some of the heat escape. ▫️If you have a saltwater pool, the salt can corrode the motor faster. We chose a chlorine pool for this very reason. ▫️Pricey! The price of auto covers vary based on design and size of your pool. Covers can range from $10k-$25k. (Ours was on the lower end of that range) ▫️Along with heat, chlorine also gets trapped in and doesn’t dissipate naturally. We have to monitor the chemical levels carefully. ▫️Maintenance: keeping the cover clean, maintaining the parts during season open & close. Like anything else, you’ll get longer use the better you care for it. ▫️Eventually it will need replaced. General wear and tear will occur and most covers last 6-9 years. Some longer with good care and some shorter. ▫️ Snowfall: covers are not meant to hold heavy snowfall. The weight can tug and pull on the parts. Heavy snowfall should be removed or get a different winter cover if you live in a region that is common for getting heavy snowfall frequently.” #beyond_gray #Architects_need
