My name is Summer, I’m 26 years old now and at seven I was diagnosed with a rare one in 1 million bone deformative condition called cleidocranial dysplasia, as well as Hip Dysplasia and Scoliosis! Although I was set apart on a physical and formative level I have and continue to refuse to let it stop me. I always knew from an early age that God put me through everything so I can share my testimony in efforts to help someone. I knew he was preparing me for strength, endurance, and a pain tolerance that I couldn’t comprehend. In the midst of my weakness he created strength. In the midst of bullies, he made me kind. In the midst of limitations, he made me creative. I used to pray and cry myself to sleep most nights as a teenager to be normal, to feel beautiful, to be able to smile and talk and not be made fun of when doing it. I know cards are dealt strategically when it comes to God. I want you to know that whatever you are going through right now no matter how big or small, how painful, difficult or lonely. There will always always ALWAYS be a light at the end of the tunnel! You are being prepped for something so much greater than what you can understand. We all have a purpose on this planet and I hope I can help you feel not so alone! ❤️

“Deformative” live at Art-O-Matic, Washington DC, Nov 29th 2002. Another recording of “Deformative,” this time from a show we played only a few days after we recorded our debut S/T. You can hear how close we were to the album take, compared to more ripped apart performances less than a year later. Art-O-Matic was a free, month-long art event that would take place in disused spaces in DC and feature visual art, bands, performances, etc. This one was in a former EPA building in SE DC.
