🤪 Tongue twisters aren’t just for fun — they’re a great way to build awareness and precision for speech sounds. 🩵 For kids with an interdental lisp, we use playful, repetitive phrases to help them feel where their tongue should be and practice keeping it inside the mouth for /s/ and /z/. The rhythm and repetition make it more engaging while still targeting accurate placement. Practice doesn’t have to be boring to be effective 😉

I absolutely am OBSESSED with the lip gym by @talktoolstherapy . My buddy here works so hard and lip competence is his final dragon we need to defeat before discharge. As you can see he is tilting his head back to keep the tongue depressor from falling. So we aren’t quite there yet. ✨ Is an interdental lisp normal? If your child’s tongue peeps between their teeth for /s/ or /z/ (e.g. “thun” for sun), don’t panic 💛 👅 This is developmentally normal up to around 4½ years old.
