DEVO will stand the test of time. I have been to the future and they are even more relevant 1000 years from now. This is one of my favorite covers. Balls and “Gates of steel” doing this cover and hitting a grand slam of decomposed delight. So much happening on the upbeat. Every time Mark gets to the “baby baby baby baby baby baby” part I immediately think of the shooting scene in CASINO. The speed of his vocals along with the machine gun firing through the house was such a fantastic blend. DEVO deserves more attention than they get. Especially for blending funk, blues, punk, synth and rock so seamlessly. Even Mick Jagger tipped his hat to this cover. Try and find the live version on SNL. Hope to hear them perform it tonight at the Bowl. I’ve deeply loved every record they’ve ever made. @clubdevo @markmothersbaugh

Neil Young & DEVO At the Ann Arbor Film Festival earlier this year, 50 Years of De-Evolution: The Restored Films of Devo (1974–1984) was a highlighted screening. What followed was a special Q&A with Gerald Casale and Mark Mothersbaugh, where the topic of DEVO’s Ohio roots and Neil Young connection were discussed.
