It also clearly states the intention to continue the conversation, while making it easy for the other person to agree by simply exchanging numbers. I didn’t understand Dutch directness at first. People here say what they mean. No guessing. No unnecessary politeness. If something doesn’t work, they say it. If they can’t do it, they communicate it. Boundaries are clear and respected. At first, it felt different. Where I came from, saying no could feel difficult. We worry about disappointing people. We overcommit. We explain too much. Dutch directness taught me something important: Saying no is not rejection. It is respect for your time and energy. It doesn’t mean you don’t care. Too often, people beat around the bush when asking for help. They don't want to impose or be direct. But let me tell you - if you truly need assistance with something, the best approach is to confidently and clearly state what you need. Remember, successful people respect confidence and directness.
