DIY DINING TABLE When I seen the one we wanted at £1,500 I said to Chris we can make that 😂 So we did And it only cost us £180 plus the chairs We actually made this last year so the chairs have gone up in price 😢 but the table has stood the test if time and we love it! For the table we used 4x old scaffolding boards sanded stained and cut to size. We wanted a large table to fill the space so we went for 2m. We then used gripfill to glue the wood together and added the legs in place. The X legs we found on @amazon they came in a pack for a table and bench. They also do different styles. We then cut pieces of wood to make a frame to attach to the underside of the table top to make sure it was sturdy. Then closed are eyes and prayed it had worked as we tipped it over 😂 For the bench we just cut x2 scaffold boards to size 180cm to make sure it fit under the table. And again used gripfill to attach together and then screwed on the legs. The bench didn’t need a wooden frame as it was sturdy enough. 8’ outdoor dining table in under 2 hours and under $250 🫰 Just in time for a weekend BBQ! *update: finished table (with stain) is up on a more recent reel!* We followed plans from @anawhitediy (Google “Ana White 4x4 Truss Beam Table”) with a couple modifications. Instead of “breadboard” ends we used 4 8’ long 2x10’s as the table top. Josh also modified the support on top by notching the 4x4. Since it’s an outdoor table, we didn’t bother with pocket screws either and just used stainless construction screws and a nail gun to assemble it! I will be staining it a medium tone that will contrast nicely with the chairs.
