Here’s a snapshot of our team members in Canada, from the moment they first met Doctors Without Borders (MSF) to where they are today. ❤️   “When I was a kid, my grandmother told me my birthday gift was a donation to MSF. Who would have known years later I’d be proudly fundraising for them!”      “I learned about MSF in high school when I read a book about Sudan. Now I’ve been working in the Canadian office for over eight years!”      “When I was 14 years old, someone from MSF came to my high school and from that moment, I dreamt of working for MSF. And I have since 2013!”

Doctors Without Borders is doing what it can to help those affected by the conflict.

Operations at al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest hospital, have collapsed as Israel continues bombing hospitals, cutting off medical supplies and fuel, and causing a massive public health crisis. At least one baby has died in an incubator as a result of the lack of fuel. Doctors say there must be a ceasefire to save lives, and that thousands of Palestinians will soon die from mass starvation, thirst, and disease because Israel cut off Gaza’s food and water supply. Meet Dr. Gumber, a proud Indian-born physician whose journey into medicine was inspired by his grandfather’s dream of having a doctor in the family. He excelled in school, driven by more than just grades — he had a genuine curiosity about human life and a deep desire to understand why people get sick and how to save them. That passion led him to medical school, where he turned his childhood dream into reality. Now a dedicated doctor in Canada, Dr. Gumber is not only honoring his grandfather’s wish, but also inspiring the next generation of South Asian healthcare professionals. I’m honoured to be starting as the International President of @doctorswithoutborders. For 16 years, I’ve worked with the dedicated humanitarians that make up MSF. I’ve seen how we continue to care for people in need, no matter why or where, while government policies put profit over people and planet. I’m sharing the message that our shared humanity matters.

Medical care keeps advancing, but the healthcare system is heading toward more strain, not less, especially with decreased reimbursements and increased workload.
