EGR - Electronic Gold Receipts taxation is as follows, If you sell it before 24 months, the capital gains will get added to your income and taxed at marginal rate (salary) If you sell it after 24 months the capital gains is taxed at 12.5% This is exactly similar to digital gold but gold ETF have a 12 months period instead of 24 months for short term & long term capital gains so in Gold ETF, after 12 months of holding you will be taxed 12.5% #gold #egr #electronicgoldreceipts #goldetf #digitalgold

EGR - Electronic Gold Receipts were launched on 4th of May 2026 by NSE. Currently a lot of broker apps are still integrating this facility and should be available soon.
