Here’s the truth👇🏾 If your goal is fat loss, the treadmill usually wins. You can adjust speed and incline to push intensity, track progress, and make every session harder as you get fitter. The elliptical does have its place… it’s lower impact, engages upper and lower body, and can feel easier on the joints. Great if you’re coming back from injury or want something smoother. But here’s the catch… On the elliptical, it’s easy to “coast” and let momentum do the work. You burn fewer calories than a tough incline walk and it’s harder to overload long term. So which is better? If you want max fat burn and muscle retention, the treadmill is the clear winner. If you just need something low-impact you’ll stick to, the elliptical can work too.
