This is how I went 8 seconds faster on my 2k this season. For context, after the winter season we do a rate capped 2k and I got a 8s PB without trying to PB. 1. I stopped over complicating it. Just do the basics really well: do all the training in the right zones, eat like an adult, sleep like a baby. 2. 8 min warm up routine before every training session. 3. Always do more core workouts. 4min every night, 6 times adds up to 24 mins a week. And 96 mins a month. 4. Small habits always compound to big margins. Just like the above. 5. Technique matters as much as your physical ability. 6. When you go over your limit and are struggling, stay in the technical model and you lose a few watts. If you start rowing weirdly then you lose a lot of watts. 7. Teamwork makes the dream work. 8. Write in a rowing journal. Write about the technique you’re focusing on, your race plans, debriefing, positive self talk 9. Set process and outcome goals. 10. Believe you can and be your loudest cheerleader.
