Just the most magical place. ❤️ Grateful is an understatement for another life-changing week at @experiencecamps. Every year, I leave feeling fulfilled and inspired. The resilience of these kids is nothing short of amazing. The fact that they can be so young when going through the unimaginable, yet also so brave and vulnerable at the same time, is truly awe-inspiring. I find myself feeling the most emotions during the happier parts of camp, when the kids are having so much fun, because it shows just how strong they are. As for all the other incredible counselors and volunteers, i’ll always have the most sacred and special place in my heart for them, and am so grateful to have made friendships that will be in my life for years to come. 💕 Experience Camps is the most well-run and welcoming organization that I’m so eternally grateful to have found 4 years ago. It provides a place for kids to be around other kids who “get it”, and gives them tangible tools/techniques to deal with their grief that forever change their lives for the better. TODAY’S THE DAY! For the first time, you can apply for @experiencecamps in TEXAS! 🧡 We are overjoyed this new, incredible, free resource will now be available for children in our state who have been through the worst: the loss of an immediate family member. If you know a child who has lost a parent or sibling, they can find healing, resilience and joy again at camp, surrounded by people who understand. #ExperienceCamps will do a family weekend in May, for families who have lost a parent/spouse or child, and our kids’ camp in August. You can also apply to be a volunteer camp counselor! Most of the counselors at camp have also been through loss, showing campers that their future is bright despite what they’ve been through. What’s given me a positive experience through the grief experience has been being a support to other people; talking and connecting about grief, and now being there for the grieving kids at @experiencecamps.
