How to make a fabric Easter egg <3 These can be made in less than 10 minutes & I only used the scrap fabric I had on hand—you can really make them any size you want depending on what you want to put in them! I’m planning to put in stickers, temporary tattoos, animal figurines, and a sweet treat! . . . #motherhood #easterdiy #sewing #sewingtutorial

For parents that don’t want any more plastic Easter eggs - this is your sign (if you enjoy making things 😊). Put your fabric scraps to good use and make some of these instead. The beauty of these is that the egg is a gift full of love in itself, & meant to be treasured for years to come. Would you want a simple tutorial for this DIY? Let me know if you want to get crafting! We also just restocked some of our merino scrap bundles in the shop if you need a starting point 🪡

scrap fabric easter eggs 🥚 These fillable eggs are made from fabric scraps and are my favorite plastic-free easter egg option. I love that they can be stored flat! I sew mine with a sewing machine but if you don’t have one (and have some patience) you can sew them by hand using a backstitch or a decorative blanket stitch around the edge. You can even just use fabric glue to piece them together for a no-sew option. You can find the free hand-drawn TEMPLATE that I made and shared on my blog if you’d like to make your own. The eggs measure approximately 3” x 3.75” sewn with a 1/8” seam allowance but you can adjust when you print for other sizes. Materials: fabric, thread, sewing machine or needle and thread (if sewing by hand) Instructions: - Cut out your fabric using your template - On the back halves, fold the edges of the fabric over along the straight edge and iron seams - Sew along the pressed edges - Assemble the pieces together with the right side of the fabric facing inward and pin together - Sew along the outside edge. I sew double stitch seams so that the stitching is secure - Turn your egg right side out #lowwaste #sewingprojects #easterdiy #eastercrafts #springcrafts

This little project is easy to make and you can use scrap pieces of fabric. I cut out an egg shape, used some cute green polka dot fabric from @spotlightstores and added some batting. The bunny is attached with heat bond and then I stitched around the edge.
